On Friday, June 26, 2020 detectives arrested a male in connection with this sexual assault as well as an earlier incident of alleged harassment on June 18, 2020, on Merritt Trail along 12 Mile Creek.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jacob Clarke of no fixed address is facing the following charges:
- Sexual assault causing bodily harm
- Sexual assault with a weapon or imitation weapon
- Forcible confinement
- Criminal harassment
Clarke is currently being held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the John Sopinka Courthouse in the City of Hamilton.
