On May 14, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., uniform officers from the 3 District (Welland) office of the Niagara Regional Police Service along with Welland Fire Services and Niagara Emergency Medical Services responded to a structure fire. The fire was located in a multi-unit residential building in the area of Burgar Street and Division Street in Welland.
Detectives from the 3 District Criminal Investigations Branch were called in to investigate the fire. The sole tenant has been accounted for and will be displaced due to the fire damage.
No injuries have been reported. The value of the damage to the building has not yet been determined.
