Woman assaulted while getting into her vehicle in Welland

Police are looking for two suspects in relation to the incident

On Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at approximately 8 p.m., 3 district (Welland) uniform officers, responded to the area of East Main Street and Golden Boulevard, in the City of Welland, in regards to an assault.

Investigation revealed that a 66-year-old female was getting into her vehicle, when two unknown males wearing black hoodies approached her and demanded her car keys. The victim refused which resulted in the males attempting to take the keys out of her hand. As a result, she was pushed to the ground. A member of the public witnessed the event unfolding and went to the aid of the female. The two suspects then fled on foot.

The female sustained non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspects are described as:

Description No. 1:

  • White
  • Beard
  • 35-45 years old
  • 5’11"
  • 180 pounds

Clothing description:

  • Black hoody with hood up
  • Toque
  • Dark pants

Description No. 2:

  • White
  • Clean shaven
  • 5’11"
  • 180 pounds

Clothing Description:

  • Black hoody with hood up

One of the suspects had a whitish grey faded circular emblem that fanned out on the front of the hoody.
