Welland man arrested in robbery investigation

During the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, members of the #2 District Detective Office commenced an investigation into a robbery at a rural home in the City of Niagara Falls.

The assailant entered the home, assaulted the victim and obtained an undisclosed amount of money. The victim sustained minor injuries. Police believe the incident was a targeted attack.

On Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, the suspect was identified and subsequently arrested without incident. Kyle Mcpherson, 28 years, of Welland is charged with;

  • Robbery, Sec. 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada, 
  • Fail to comply with probation order, Sec. 733.1 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
  • Fail to comply with recognizance, Sec. 145(3) x 2 of the Criminal Code of Canada

Mcpherson is to appear at the Robert S. K. Welch courthouse in St. Catharines  for a bail hearing on Feb. 25, 2019.
