Victim left with serious injuries after two attacks from same suspects: Police

Two suspects remain outstanding; police seize fentanyl, crystal meth, crack during arrest of three others

On Sept. 21, 2020 at approximately 2 a.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a variety store on Lundy's Lane just east of Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls for a serious assault.

Officers arrived on scene and met with an adult male victim. The officer's investigation determined that at 1:30 a.m. the victim had been standing in front of the store. A grey Dodge Caravan suddenly pulled into the parking lot. Four men and a woman got out of the van and attacked the victim. The suspects all fled the area in the van.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by Niagara EMS paramedics for treatment of serious injuries. The victim was released from hospital later in the morning.

On Sept. 21, 2020 at approximately 10:30 a.m., uniform officers responded to the area of Main Street and Barker Street in Niagara Falls for a welfare check. Officers and paramedics arrived on scene to find the same male victim suffering from new serious injuries from an assault that had just occurred at a house in Niagara Falls. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Investigation by 2 District detectives determined that two of the suspects responsible for the first targeted assault were also responsible for the second. Detectives were able to identify the woman and two of the men. The investigation led detectives to a house on Main Street near Murray Street in Niagara Falls. The woman and two men were arrested on Sept. 21, 2020. Detectives held the residence and obtained a search warrant for evidence.

Detectives executed the search warrant on the residence. As a result of the arrest of the male suspects and the search warrant detectives seized:

  • Property related to the assaults
  • 52.8 g of suspected fentanyl (estimated street value of $15,840)
  • 20.3 g of suspected crystal methamphetamine (estimated street value of $2,233)
  • 17.5 g of suspected crack cocaine (estimated street value of $2,275)
  • 6 g of suspected hydromorphine (estimated street value of $30)
  • A prohibited knife
  • Unrelated property believed to be stolen (bikes x 10, tools and air conditioners x 3) valued at approximately $15,000

Shawn Michael Ott (51 years) of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the alleged offences of:

  • Aggravated assault (two counts)
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)

Michael C. Lambkin (46 years) of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the alleged offences of:

  • Aggravated assault (two counts)
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (flick knife)

Jennifer Shannon Bedard (42 years) of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the alleged offence of:
Aggravated assault

Ott and Lambkin were held in custody and attended a video bail hearing on Sept. 22, 2020 at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse. Bedard was released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date of Nov. 25, 2020 at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

The identity of two of male suspects remains unknown.

Suspect 1 is described as:

  • White male
  • 5'10-6'2 feet tall, muscular build
  • 30-40 years, dark hair
  • Grey hoodie
  • Blue jeans
  • Light blue / turquoise running shoes

Suspect 2 is described as:

  • White male, unknown age, short or shaved hair
  • Wearing a dark blue or black sweater with white writing
  • Dark coloured baseball hat
