Vehicle that hit, killed E-bike operator likely newer model grey Mazda 3

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Drummond Road north of Dunn Street in the City of Niagara Falls. The collision occurred on Thursday, March 19 at approximately 11:38 p.m.

An E-Bike that was travelling southbound on Drummond Road lost control for an undetermined reason causing the operator to be thrown from the bike. The operator came to rest in the southbound lane of Drummond Road. 

A grey Mazda was travelling southbound on Drummond Road when it struck the operator of the E-Bike who was lying in the southbound lane. 

Investigators have recovered identifiable vehicle components and video that reveal the motor vehicle involved is likely to be a newer model (2014-2016), grey, Mazda 3. The vehicle may have minor damage to the front end and bumper. 

This collision remains under investigation by the Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit.  Police are requesting that anyone who was travelling on Drummond Road at the time of the collision or anyone with information regarding this collision contact police at (905) 688-4111, dial option 3, Badge # 9265
