Two people critically injured in West Lincoln incident

At approximately 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, 8 District (Grimsby) uniform officers responded to the area of Anastasia Boulevard and Townline Road in West Lincoln for the report of a disturbance. 

On arrival our officers had an interaction with a person. That person was injured and required transportation to an out of area trauma centre by Paramedics. No officers were injured. 
 
Our officers entered a nearby residence and located two persons with critical injuries. They have also been transported to an out of area hospital.
 
The scene has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. 
 
The SIU has been notified and are invoking their investigative mandate outlined in Ontario Regulation 267/10 under the Police Services Act. As such, we are prohibited by law from providing information about the interaction. 
 
Detectives from the NRPS will be investigating the incident for any criminality that falls outside the scope of the SIU.
