Two face drug trafficking charges after Fort Erie stolen vehicle stopped

Search of vehicle results in seizure of $1,000 worth of drugs, drug paraphernalia and $500 in cash

On Saturday, May 2, 2020, Niagara Regional Police located a stolen vehicle that was being driven in the Town of Fort Erie. 

Officers stopped the vehicle in a parking lot of an apartment complex on Concession Rd and two occupants were subsequently arrested. 

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately $1000 in drugs including fentanyl, meth, and cocaine. 

Police also seized drug paraphernalia and over $500 in currency.

29-year-old Kristie Strauss and 36-year-old Victoria Hurst, both of Fort Erie are facing the following alleged charges:  

  1. Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. Sec. 355(a)CC
  2. Possession of a schedule I substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  3. Possession of a schedule I substance (crystal meth) for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  4. Possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  5. Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000. Sec.355(b)CC 

Both Strauss and Hurst were released from custody with future court dates in relation to the charges.
