Two face drug charges following search warrant

In June of 2020, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police, 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit, began an investigation into the alleged sales of narcotics, from a St. Catharines Residence.

The investigation led detectives to identify a male and female, selling narcotics from their residence.

On Monday, June 29, 2020, detectives arrested the two suspects.

Subsequently, detectives executed two search warrants, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. As a result, detectives seized $7,670 in proceeds of drug trafficking, a conductive energy weapon (Taser), 113 grams of cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking, 804 oxycodone tablets, and 10 grams of methamphetamine. The controlled substances carry an estimated street value of $17,000. 

Shane J. Marko (38 years old), of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences of: 

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, crystal methamphetamine
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, cocaine  
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, oxycodone

Marko was released on a Form 10 – Undertaking, and is expected to appear at court, on Sept. 3, 2020, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

Caitlyn J. Hall (31 years old), of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences of:  

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, cocaine 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, crystal methamphetamine  
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance: to wit, oxycodone  
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000  
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Hall was released on a Form 10 – Undertaking, and is expected to appear at court, on Sept. 3, 2020, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
