Thorold man arrested in phoney 911 call

Public assistance helped investigating officers identify and locate the 26-year-old
phoney-caller

As a result of a continued investigation by uniform officers in 1 District St. Catharines and with the assistance of members of the public, officers were able to identity the male depicted in the surveillance images (from the phony 911 call at the Pen Center).

On Thursday April 25, 2019 officers located and arrested the male without incident.
 
Charged with one count of Public Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada is 26-year-old Joseph Miller of Thorold.
 
Miller was released from custody on a Promise to Appear Officer in Charge Undertaking with a future court date of Friday May 24, 2019 at Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
 
Police would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance in the investigation.
