Suspended driver from St. Catharines accused of speeding in northern Ontario

BLIND RIVER - On Feb. 15. 2020, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and a vehicle stop was initiated.

The driver produced an expired Ontario driver's licence photo card and a query revealed the driver was also suspended.

As a result of the investigation, Kimberly Connor, 45 years of age from St Catharines, Ontario was charged with:

  • Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);
  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the HTA; and with
  • Possess non-photo card portion of cancelled, revoked of suspended licence, contrary to section 35(1)(b) of the HTA.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 18, 2020.
