Suspected cocaine, $3,600 cash seized in St. Catharines

In August of 2020, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit, began an investigation into the sales of cocaine, in the City of St. Catharines.

On Aug. 12, 2020, two suspects were arrested, with the assistance of the Opioid Enforcement and Education Unit and Rope Squad Unit.

Subsequently, detectives executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant, in the area of Abbott Street and Oakdale Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines. 

As a result, detectives seized $3,600 of Canadian currency and 24.4 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2,300.

Lyle C. Gough (31 years old) of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences: 

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Gough was held in custody, pending a bail hearing and is expected to appear at court on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

Olivia G. Jackson (30 years old), of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences:  

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking  
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Gough was held in custody, pending a bail hearing and is expected to appear at court on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
