Suspect arrested in Welland Legion break-in

Welland man faces numerous charges, including possession of fentanyl/heroin and crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

On April 21, 2019 a break-in occurred at the Royal Canadian Legion, Welland Branch. Suspect(s) entered the building through a basement window and stole items which included a safe and a quantity of cash.

On April 26, 2019, the Welland Street Crime Unit arrested a 52-year-old Welland resident and charged him in relation to the break and enter.

Tony Peterson of Welland is now charged with break and enter, and possession of proceeds of crime. In addition, Tony Peterson is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl/heroin and crystal methamphetamine.

The Niagara Regional Police Service would like to thank the general public for their assistance in this investigation.
