Police seek suspect in St. Catharines bank robbery

He allegedly demanded cash from the teller, received a quantity of Canadian and American currency, and fled on foot

On Tuesday June 18, 2019 at approximately 9:35 a.m., members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a robbery at the Bank of Nova Scotia, at 343 Glendale Ave., in the City of St. Catharines.

Initial investigation revealed a lone male suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from the teller. The suspect received a quantity of Canadian and American currency from the teller, before fleeing the premise on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20s with brown scruffy facial hair. He is approximately 5'7"-5'10", thin build, wearing khaki pants, a grey 'American Eagle' sweater, with dark coloured (possibly black or navy blue) sleeves and a dark toque with a grey and white stripes.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Branch in 1 District are continuing with the investigation and ask that anyone with information, which can assist in the possible identification of the suspect male, contact Detective Constable Lindsay Medd at [email protected]
