Police lay sexual assault charge in Welland

WELLAND - In Jan. 2019, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit entered into an investigation involving an allegation of a sexual assault that occurred in the City of Welland.

On Thursday, April 4, 2019, following an investigation, detectives arrested a male suspect.

Twenty-three-year-old Jesse Gosewitz of the City of Peterborough is facing the following alleged charge:

  • Sexual assault

Gosewitz is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
