Police issue warning about fake US bills circulating in Niagara region

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has noticed an increase in the number of counterfeit bills circulating in the Niagara Region. Since September, there have been 12 reported incidents of suspected counterfeit bills being passed in Niagara. The majority of the incidents occurred in the tourist district of Niagara Falls.

These counterfeit bills are of American currency and consist of $50s and $100s.

Detectives with the Fraud Unit of the Niagara Regional Police Service are reminding employees, business owners and members of the public to be vigilant when verifying American currency when presented.
