Police investigating robbery a gunpoint in St. Catharines

On Jan. 9, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., uniform officers from 1 District St. Catharines attended a cash service business located in the area of Geneva Street and Carlton Road in response to a robbery.

Officers attending the scene quickly learned that shortly before 3:30 p.m., two males entered the business and one brandished a firearm, demanding cash from the business two employees. 

The employees complied with the demands of the assailants and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Both suspects then fled the scene on foot. A Police Canine Unit attended the area and conducted a suspect track in the area without success.

The suspects are described as:

1) Black male, approximately 5'10" tall, medium build 

This male was wearing a light-coloured coat, dark-coloured striped hoodie, dark-coloured pants with a white stripe down the side, white gloves

2) Male, approximately 6"0" tall, medium build

This male was wearing a dark-coloured coat, blue hoodie, dark-coloured pants

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives from 1 District Criminal Investigations Branch. Anyone with information is asked to contact 905 688-4111, ext. 9628.
