Police arrest one in armed robbery in Niagara Falls

A 22-year-old man has been charged in the early Saturday morning robbery

On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at approximately 5 a.m., the Niagara Regional Police were called to a gas station on Portage Road in the City of Niagara Falls. 

It had been reported that an armed robbery had just occurred at this location, by a male suspect brandishing a knife. The male demanded and received a small amount of currency from the cash register and fled the area.  The lone gas station attendant was not injured in the robbery.

A follow-up investigation by 2 District officers, resulted in identification and arrest of the male responsible for commission of the robbery.

Accused is 22-year-old Damon McLeod, who has been charged with:

  • Robbery - Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Disguise with Intent - Section 351(2) of the Criminal Code 

The investigative team is asking that anyone who may feel they have knowledge to or witnessed any part of this occurrence, to call the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111; option #3, badge #9994.
