At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday June 29, 2020, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were called to a residential building in the area of Front St. N and Albert St. E in the City of Thorold following the report of a fire.
The units were evacuated and Thorold Fire and Emergency Services were able to get the fire under control.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a deceased 55 year old male inside one of the units.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation by officers with the 1 District Detective Office. No other injuries have been reported.
The Office of the Fire Marshall has been brought in to investigate the fire.
