One dead after car and dump truck crash Niagara Falls

A 25-year-old was transported to hospital with minor injuries

On Thursday, July 23, 2020, at approximately 3:50 p.m., emergency personal responded to the area of Mountain Road and the QEW Southbound off ramp, in the City of Niagara Falls, in regards to a collision.

Initial Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old female, was driving a Silver Honda Civic, with a 25-year-old male passenger. The Honda Civic was travelling southbound from the QEW off ramp, when it attempted to make an eastbound turn onto Mountain Road. 

Subsequently, a 61-year-old male, from St. Catharines was operating a dump truck, and was travelling westbound on Mountain Road. As a result, the dump truck collided with the Honda Civic.

A 24-year-old female, from Mississauga, Ontario, was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

A 25-year-old male, from Mississauga, Ontario, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation by detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Forensic Service Unit, the Traffic Enforcement Unit and the office of the Coroner.
