Niagara-on-the-Lake man charged after 'suspicious failed business arrangement'

The Niagara Regional Police Service commenced an investigation in October 2019 following the report of a suspicious failed business arrangement.

The subsequent investigation by the Niagara Regional Police Service Central Fraud Unit resulted in the previous arrests of Peter Corbiere.

After further investigation, on May 4, 2020, Corbiere arrested and charged with additional criminal offences.

Peter Corbiere (63-years-old) of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is facing the following alleged charges: 

  • Fraud over $5000 contrary to section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code  
  • False pretences contrary to section 362(1)(c)(ii) of the Criminal Code  

Corbiere was released on a promise to appear with a future court date of May 27, 2020, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
