Niagara Falls man uninjured in serious collision in Vaughan

The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger, suffered serious injuries in the crash. York Regional Police are looking for witnesses to the collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, shortly after 6 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a collision on Rutherford Road, north of the Highway 400 exit ramp. When officers arrived they found that two vehicles, a Honda van and an International truck had collided. The driver of the van, a 51-year-old man from the City of Vaughan and the passenger, a 52-year-old female from the City of Vaughan were suffering from serious injuries. They were both transported to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man from the City of Niagara Falls, was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area are being asked to please come forward.
