Man accused of attacking clerk

On Aug. 3, 2019 at approximately 3:56 p.m. uniformed members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a report of a robbery at a local convenience store in the east end of the Town of Fort Erie.

Investigation revealed a lone male grabbed a small amount of merchandise and attempted to flee without paying. The store clerk managed to stop the male but was punched and pushed prior to the male making his escape on foot. The clerk sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Uniform officers attended and managed to locate and arrest the male a short distance away. The 5 District Criminal Investigations Branch assisted with the investigation.

Charged with one count of robbery is 25-year-old Fort Erie resident Christopher Archambault.

Archambault was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
