Investigators deem Niagara Falls suspicious death a homicide

March 31 update:
Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide and Forensic Services Units are continuing to investigate the discovery of a body in the rural area of Ort Road and Marshall Road in Niagara Falls.

The body of a 24-year-old man from the Toronto area was discovered on March 29, 2020 at approximately 12:45 p.m., in a wooded area near Ort Road and Marshall Road.

A post mortem examination was conducted on March 30, 2020.

Detectives are now treating this matter as a homicide investigation.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road (driving/walking) on March 29, 2020 in the hours leading up to 12:45 p.m. are asked to contact detectives.

Original March 30 release:
On Sunday, March 29, 2020 at approximately 12:45 p.m., 2 District Niagara Falls uniform officers responded to a report of found human remains.

Officers attended the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road, in the city of Niagara Falls in response to the discovery of a deceased male in a wooded area.

The matter is under investigation by detectives from the Homicide and Forensic Services Unit along with the Coroner.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road (driving/walking) on March 29, 2020 between 6 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. are asked to contact detectives.
