WELLAND - On Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 Niagara Regional Police attended in the area of Schisler Road and Darby Road in Welland, after a member of the community reported locating what they believed to be human remains.
With the assistance of members of the Ontario Provincial Police, the remains were recovered; and a post-mortem was conducted on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 in Toronto.
As a result of the post, the remains have been positively identified as being that of Samantha Leigh Lambert of St. Catharines.
Samantha Lambert had been reported missing to the Niagara Regional Police in September 2018, and her disappearance has been continuously investigated since that time.
A cause of death has not been determined at this time, pending further examination.
Investigators wish to speak with any and all members of the community with information regarding the disappearance, and circumstances surrounding the death of Samantha Lambert.
