Four facing drug trafficking charges in Fort Erie

On Friday, April 24, 2020, officers with the 5 District (Fort Erie) and 3 District (Welland) Detective Office concluded a month long investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Town of Fort Erie. 

Police executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence in the area of Douglas Av and Bertie St, Fort Erie. 

As a result, Police seized 30 grams of crystal meth (estimated value $4500), 7.7 grams of fentanyl (estimated value $539), 3 grams of cocaine (estimated value $300), over $1700 in currency and a weapon (a hatchet).

40-year-old Adam Farago, 26-year-old Ed Carnegie, 41-year-old Caroline Ward, 41-year-old Patrick Chow and 56-year-old Gerry Lomascolo, all of Fort Erie, are each facing the following alleged charges:

  1. Possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  2. Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  3. Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Sec. 5(2)CDSA
  4. Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000. Sec. 355(b)CC
  5. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Sec. 88(1)CC

Farago, Carnegie,  Chow, and Lomascolo are all currently being held in custody pending a video bail hearing at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.  Ward was released with a future court date.
