Couple robbed at gunpoint outside YMCA

On Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, the Niagara Regional Police Service were called to the McBain Community Centre in the City of Niagara Falls, to investigate a report of a robbery.

The police investigation revealed that shortly before 6:30 a.m., a couple was entering the parking lot to the McBain Centre on foot when they were confronted by two males in the south corner of the parking lot.

One of the males was brandishing a handgun and the victims were deprived of their possessions, as well as a small amount of currency.

The suspects fled the McBain Centre parking lot in a dark coloured Sedan, last seen travelling toward McLeod Road on Montrose Road. Neither victim was injured in the course of the robbery.

Both suspects are described as being white, approximately 17-20 years of age, 6 feet tall and medium build.

It is believed that the suspects were parked in the lot well prior to the victim(s) arrival. Surveillance video depicts a number of patrons attending the property at the time of or just prior to this occurrence. Investigators are asking anyone that may have information pertaining to the suspects or the suspect vehicle to contact Detective Constable Kyle Jukosky of the 2 District Criminal Investigations Branch at 905-688-4111; badge #8422.
