Careless driving charge laid in serious car crash in Grimsby

On May 5, 2020, at approximately 4:40 p.m., 8 District - Grimsby uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) we called to the area of Mountain Rd. and Kemp Rd. W. for a report of a serious car crash.

Officers arrived on scene with other emergency services personnel to find a blue 2008 Chevrolet Malibu had collided with a parked trailer carrying construction equipment.

The driver of the blue Chevrolet Malibu, a 25-year-old woman from West Lincoln was treated by Niagara EMS paramedics at the scene. The driver was transported by Niagara EMS paramedics to an out of region trauma hospital for treatment of what is believed to be serious injuries.

The driver has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act Ontario.

The roads in the area were reopened at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing by officers from the NRPS Grimsby office.
