Arrest made in fatal crash in Niagara

A 21-year-old from Pelham faces a pair of charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death

An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal collision in Niagara on the Lake on Aug. 17, 2019.

On Aug. 21, 2019 a male contacted police and turned himself in to custody; the vehicle believed to have been involved in the collision has been recovered.
 
Twenty-one-year-old Patrick McCabe of the Town of Pelham is facing the following alleged charges:
  • Fail to stop
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death
McCabe is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
 
At the request of her family, the victim's name is not being released, however, detectives are able to confirm she was a Mexican national living the Niagara Region and employed at a local farm.
