Arrest made following St. Catharines assault investigation

On Dec. 26, 2018 uniform officers and detectives responded to the area of Vine Street and Seneca Street in St. Catharines for a serious assault with a weapon.  A female victim was located in front of a residence in critical condition.  She was transported to an out of region hospital for further treatment.

As a result of the investigation 44-year-old Marlon Kinsale was identified as a suspect and grounds formed for his arrest for attempted murder.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 27, 2018, with the assistance of the York Regional Police, Kinsale was located and arrested in city of Markham.

Kinsale has been returned to the Niagara Region.

He is expected to attend a bail hearing at the Robert. S. K. Welch Courthouse later today.
