Another arrest made in Niagara Falls homicide investigation

The latest person arrested faces a charge of accessory after the fact to murder

Update 3 – April 10, 2020

The Niagara Regional Police Service homicide investigation that commenced March 29, 2020, has been ongoing by Homicide Unit detectives.

Since the discovery of a deceased 24-year-old man from the Toronto area detectives have made three arrests in relation to this homicide investigation.

On April 10, 2020, Lequan Matthews (22 years old) of Scarborough was arrested and charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offence of:

  •   Accessory After the Fact to Murder – sec. 240

Matthews was held in custody in order to attend a video bail hearing on April 11, 2020.

Update 2 - April 4, 2020

On March 29, 2020, uniform officers and detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service began investigating the homicide of a 24-year-old Toronto area man after his body was discovered in rural Niagara Falls.

That investigation has been ongoing by the Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit. On Saturday April 4, 2020, detectives arrested and charged three persons in relation to this investigation.

Zeeshan Feroze Hafeez (21-year-old male) of Scarborough is charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offence of:

  • 2nd Degree Murder

Alexia Joseph (20 years old) of Scarborough is charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offence of:

  • 2nd Degree Murder

Dillon Siciliano (25 years old) of Welland is charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offence of:

  • Accessory After Fact to Murder

All three arrested persons were held in custody and will appeared at a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 5, 2020.

Update 1 - March 31, 2020

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide and Forensic Services Units are continuing to investigate the discovery of a body in the rural area of Ort Road and Marshall Road in Niagara Falls.

The body of a 24-year-old man from the Toronto area was discovered on March 29, 2020 at approximately 12:45 p.m., in a wooded area near Ort Road and Marshall Road.

A post mortem examination was conducted on March 30, 2020.

Detectives are now treating this matter as a homicide investigation.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road (driving / walking) on March 29, 2020 in the hours leading up to 12:45 p.m. are asked to contact detectives.

Original Release – March 30, 2020 – 10:01 a.m.

On Sunday, March 29, 2020, at approximately 12:45 p.m., 2 District Niagara Falls uniform officers responded to a report of found human remains.

Officers attended the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road, in the city of Niagara Falls in response to the discovery of a deceased male in a wooded area.

The matter is under investigation by detectives from the Homicide and Forensic Services Unit along with the Coroner.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Marshall Road and Ort Road (driving/walking) on March 29, 2020 between 6 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. are asked to contact detectives.
