Since early April 2020, Detectives with the 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit have been investigating allegations of drug trafficking in the City of St. Catharines.
On Saturday, April 25, 2020, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Currie St and Facer St.
As a result of the investigation, over 100 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine was seized (estimated value of $9000) as well as over $350 in currency.
30-year-old Arthur Michaud and 26-year-old Stephanie Steinhoff, both of St. Catharines are each facing the following alleged charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: Crystal Methamphetamine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
Michaud and Steinhoff are both currently being held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
