$87K worth of fentanyl seized during St. Catharines drug bust

Since July of 2020, members of the Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit and the Opioid Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have been investigating suspected drug trafficking from a residence in the area of St. Peter Street and Maplecrest Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines.

On Aug. 5, 2020 at approximately 12:33 p.m., 1 district (St. Cathrines) uniform officers arrested two suspects in the area of Highway 406 and Geneva Street in the City of St. Catharines.

A subsequent search resulted in detectives seizing 51 grams of pink coloured fentanyl, 95.9 grams of purple coloured fentanyl and 144.5 grams of fentanyl powder. The total estimated street value of these drugs is $87,420. In total Police seized over $4,100 in currency believed to be the proceeds of their drug sales.

David McComb (27 years old) of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
    •    Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

McComb was held for pending a bail hearing and is expected to appear at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church St. in the City of St. Catharines on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020.

Keith Earle (32 years old) was arrested and charged with the alleged following offences of:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
    •    Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Breach recognizance

Earle was held for pending a bail hearing and is expected to appear at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church St. in the City of St. Catharines on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020.

In addition, Earle was wanted by Sudbury Police in relation to an armed robbery with a firearm.
