17-year-old dies in Welland two vehicle collision

At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, 3 District (Welland) uniform officers were called to the area of Moyer Road and Grassy Brook Road in the City of Welland following the report of a collision.

Investigation has revealed two vehicles, a 2008 Dodge Caliber and a 2016 Honda Civic were involved in a collision.

A 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 17-year-old male passenger was airlifted to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Two other occupants of the vehicle, a 25-year-old female and a 20-year-old male were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Civic was not physically injured.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate this collision. At this time, no charges have been laid.
