It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria on March 22, 2019.
Loving mother to Fernandina Lucarelli and Erina (Marc) Cassab. Proud and loving Nonna to Alexander, Cristina and Matthew. Sister to six siblings. Zia to many nieces and nephews. Maria leaves us in the beginning of her 90th year. She was an avid and gifted gardener, maintaining incredible flower and vegetable gardens. Loving, kind and so very generous, always giving of herself in many ways, especially through her talented cooking and baking. Sadly missed will be her famous gnocchi and meatballs. Every year, she would preserve tomato sauce, prosciutto and wine for our family and friends to enjoy. Compassionate and selfless, a magnificent woman who loved God and her family most.
Family and friends will be received at BOCCHIFNUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold at 2:00 PM.
Rite of Committal Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to Holy Rosary Church Building Fund may be made in Maria's memory.
