Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Niagara General Hospital on Friday, April 5, 2019.
Iola immigrated from Italy in 1958, eventually setting down her roots in Thorold. Devoted and loving wife of Luigi for 62 years. Caring and nurturing mother to Tina (John) LaSelva and Franco. Very proud Nonna of Steven (Kristine) LaSelva, Sandra LaSelva, Kyle Curcio, Teanna Curcio (Tye) and Stephanie; Great Nonna to Arianna and Beau. Dear sister of Mario Cosco, and sister-in-law to Maria (Carmine) Pantano, Rosa (the late Chris) Grano and Aldo (Josie) Curcio. Iola will be missed by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Iola loved having company and cooking for everyone, she made our stomachs and our hearts full! She will always be remembered for her kind heart and her loving smile. Thank you to the staff at Valley Park Lodge for their love and care for the past year. Thank you to Father Kessete Hammad for the many home visits and spiritual care. A very special thank you to her exceptional neighbors Maria Marcone and Vicky Grano and the members of the "Coffee Shop" for their endless companionship.
Relatives and friends will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. Vigil prayers recited at 3:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday April 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
