BUCKMASTER, PETER EDWARD - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Peter Buckmaster who passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 surrounded by family. Peter is survived by his soul mate and loving wife of 65 years, Brenda. Dear father of Chris (Mary Rose), Barry (Cassandra), and Tyler (Lesley). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Crystal (Chuck), Kassandra (Rob), Tabatha, Brad, Bailee (David), Benjamin, Christopher, Aaron, Bethany (Travis) and his many great grandchildren. He leaves behind years of cherished memories in the town of Thorold where he spent most of his life working at the paper mill, in the lab. Peter had a love for baseball and spent his early life playing in the town of Thorold. He then graduated to become a mentor in which he took on a coaching role, coaching a tyke team to win the OBA championship in 1969. Peter then spent his remaining time at the diamond, umpiring for over 15 years. Peter’s family will always have fond memories of him at his trailer enjoying time with friends, playing his banjo and his love of western music. Peter passed away with music in his soul and humour in his heart. Peter will always be remembered for doing what is right, his incisive wit, and unwavering commitment to others; but to him, the crowning achievement and light of his life was his family. Although, the passing of Peter leaves us with this infinite sorrow, his legacy endures through his generosity, compassion, and the immense impact he had on his community. He family will receive visitors for a celebration of life at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 2:00 -4:00 PM.
