Tennis anyone?

Now that school is finished, tennis may be the perfect youth summer activity

It wasn't long ago that the sport of tennis in Thorold was thriving at the Monsignor Clancy property on Collier Road.

But time and money became the enemies and the courts deteriorated to the point where they are no longer useable.

However, for those who may be interested in taking up the sport, there are new opportunities being offered by Scott Jeffries of Murdy Sports at the South Confederation Park tennis courts.

Jeffries told ThoroldNews, "I offer first-time for all ages and skill every Tuesday and Sunday. The cost is $10 for a first-time one-and-a-half hour clinic and then $20 after that." And he added, "Equipment is provided."

He said there are already about 20 kids playing throughout the week and, "We have room for others to join us."
