Thorold Impact Promotions Bantam BB Blackhawks took two games this past weekend to eliminate The Pelham Panthers from the OMHA Playdowns.
On Friday, Thorold went out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period on goals by Jack Hale, assisted by Luka Radovanovic and Ethan Bolibruck and Ty Coppola with an assist to Andrew McCafferty. Pelham tiee the game at 2 before the end of the first period on goals from Lucas Gaudet and Joshua Diraddo.
The game would stay tied until 4:42 of overtime, when Thorold's Kyle Prendergast scored to end the game with assist going to Matteo Digiovanni. Michael Leblanc played a strong game in net for Thorold.
On Saturday night in Pelham the two teams play the third game of the best of 5 series. Once again Thorold opened the scoring on a goal by Jack Hale.
Pelham would tie the game at 1-1. Thorold would score the winning goal in the Third period on a goal by Ethan Bolibruck while on the power play.
Thorold now advances to the OMHA Semi Final and will play the winner of Caledonia Thunder and Strathroy Rocket. Strathroy currently leads the series 2-1.
