The Thorold Blackhawks dropped the visiting Fort Erie Meteors by a 6-3 score last night in Thorold in Jr. B hockey action. Thorold had a 2-1 edge at the end of the first period on goals by Nicholas Rubino and Riley Sutherland.

Sutherland added two more in the second to give the Hawks a 4-1 lead heading into the final frame. In the third period each team scored twice with Thomas Lonsdale and Rubino added to the totals for Thorold.

The Hawks outshot the Meteors by a 47-38 margin and Noah Fortuna picked up the win in the Thorold goal, making 35 saves.

All three stars were from the Thorold squad, as Sutherland, Rubino and Cam Lightfoot were selected as first, second and third stars respectively.

Thorold is home to St. Catharines next Thursday with game time 7:07 p.m.
