Anchors solid in win over Cannons

Catch senior men's baseball at McMillan Park every Tuesday

The Thorold Anchors silenced the Fort Erie Cannons last night in senior men’s baseball at McMillan Park. The Anchors picked up their third win, taking the game 5-3.

Luke Edwards got the win on the Thorold mound, pitching seven innings and allowing three runs on two hits and six walks.

Ryan Dalley drove in two runs and scored a run after going two for four at the plate. Thorold had single RBIs from Dan Carbone and Dylan Dempsey, and scored 11 hits and five runs for the night.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, the Cannons made a donation to the weekly food drive the Anchors are sponsoring at every home game.

The next home game for the Anchors is Tuesday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. versus the Merritton Alliance at McMillan Park. Food donations will be accepted again.
