UPDATE: Robbery attempt on Clara Street

On Jan. 5, 2019 at approximately 5:30 p.m., uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service 1 District - St. Catharines/Thorold office where called to a convenience store located in the area of Clara Street and Taylor Street in Thorold in regards to a robbery.

Officers attended the scene and learned that shortly before 5:30 p.m. a lone male entered the store and brandished a knife at the lone store clerk, demanding money.  When the suspect was met with a less than compliant clerk, he fled the scene on foot with nothing.  A Police Canine Unit attended the scene and conducted a suspect track in the area without success.

The suspect is described as:

  • A white male
  • Approximately 6'0" tall
  • Weighing approximately 180 lbs

The male was wearing:

  • Winter Coat
  • Dark coloured ski mask and gloves
