Toys collected at Trivia Tune night

Port Robinson Proud hosted a festive meal, toy and mitten drive, and Name This Tune Trivia night

Barbie dolls, trucks and teddy bears were piled on the table, while contestants danced after correctly shouting out the titles of nostalgic songs.

A spirited Name This Tune Trivia event in Port Robinson added a festive element Thursday night, with participants bringing in toys and mittens for families who need a hand this Christmas.

The holiday toy drive was the brainstorm of Amanda Ettinger, whose dad--Dave Wright--is a member of Port Robinson Proud.

"All (donated items) are going to Thorold Community Care," she told the Thorold News.

PRP has spearheaded several charity and community events in the village, with an aim to unite residents from both sides of the canal.

Nancy Waters, a founding member of PRP, as well as events manager at Club C Event Centre (Club Castropignano), said she hopes to host more of the popular Name This Tune nights at the Port Robinson west venue in the new year.
