Event aims to raise $20,000 for scholarships and programs that assist young women

Tickets are on sale now on Eventbrite for the CFUW St. Catharines annual House and Garden Tour to raise $20,000 for local post-secondary scholarships benefitting young women, and agencies that support women and children.

Who:

CFUW St. Catharines has over 200 members and promotes equality, social justice, friendship and life-long learning. Established in 1921, it is a volunteer, self-funded, non-partisan, non-profit organization raising funds for young women’s post-secondary education and local agencies that support women and children.

What:

A self-guided House and Garden Tour featuring four beautiful properties and gardens representing architectural eras from the 1800s to the 2000s. Guest speaker, Dr. Ian Ellingham, educator at the School of Restoration Arts at Willowbank, will provide an overview of the value of heritage architecture at Spirit in Niagara Distillery, which is the Celebration Venue.

When:

Sunday, May 26, noon to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Dr. Ellingham’s presentations are scheduled at 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m.

Where:

Two properties are in the Yates Street Heritage District within walkable distance from one another, one in the Glenridge/Glendale area and the fourth near the canal enroute to Spirit in Niagara Distillery at 458 Lakeshore Rd., Niagara-on-the-Lake.
