Thorold’s taking part in the Mayor’s challenge

Annual United Way Fundraiser, Thorold Edition, was launched this week

Municipal staffs across Niagara are taking on a friendly little challenge to raise the most money per capita for the United Way.

A flag raising on Thursday at Thorold City Hall kicked off the event. Mayor Terry Ugulini urged city staff and council to take part in the challenge.

He pointed out the main areas of concern for the United Way are poverty, children and youth and vulnerable adults.

“We know that money raised for the local  United Way stays in Niagara which is important. Their mission is to improve lives and communities, and we’re all about community here,” said Ugulini.
