Thorold hosting huge lacrosse tournament this weekend

The largest and longest running lacrosse tournament for intermediate boys aged 17-21 will begin tonight in the two Thorold arenas.

The Rose Engemann tournament is named for the Canadian and Ontario Lacrosse hall of famer. She and her late husband Joe Engemann were the founders of the Spartan Warriors Lacrosse Association, which included the Jr. B Warriors who are now playing out of Thorold as their home arena. They were the first husband and wife team to be honoured by the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Games begin tonight at 7 p.m. and run through until Sunday when the final group A championship game gets underway at 2:30 p.m.
