Niagara is under a heat warning, so the City of Thorold is helping residents to stay cool.

In the future, The Thorold Community Arena will be open to function as a cooling center whenever there is a heat warning in effect.

The lobby will open as a cooling station by using the access from Ormond St. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., it will be open daily while under a heat warning and is to be used solely as a place for residents to escape the heat.

Entry into the arena will be permitted under strict guidelines while physical distancing must be maintained while you wait to gain entry and hand sanitizer will be available.

If you are feeling sick please stay home to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

"This is subject to change, be sure to watch our website for updates," said the town in a press release.
