Seniors and board members bond over barbecue (3 photos)

Thorold Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corporation (TMNPHC) resurrected the seniors' barbecue this week after a two-year hiatus

After a two-year hiatus, the Thorold Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corporation (TMNPHC) brought back the seniors' barbecue this week.

Residents of the not-for-profit apartments at 61 Ormond and 24 Cleveland Streets were invited by the TMNPHC to a social barbecue Tuesday evening.

Board chair Sergio Paone credited resident Shirley Allan and office manager Janey Bellows with organizing the event.

Allan, formerly a 50-year resident of Thorold South, was glad to have board support again after running the barbecue for the past two years.

Attendees also took the opportunity to wish resident Cliff Booker a happy 90th birthday.

Board members including Paone, Kevin Cowling, George Ravenek, Ed Pizzo, and Henry D'Angela, along with council appointee member John Kenny, took turns grilling up the burgers and hot dogs. Councillor Anthony Longo sent his regrets.
