Rush drummer Neil Peart celebration pushed back due to COVID-19

Event announces new dates, addition to line-up

A planned tribute night for legendary St Catharines drummer Neil Peart of Rush has been pushed back to next spring due to the pandemic.

The event said after talks with the Peart family and the Meridian Centre, the new date has been set for Saturday, April 17, 2021.

The event also announced it had secured several new acts for the gala night.

David Barrett, Brandon Dyke, Rush Tribute bands Solar Federation and Permanent Waves, Devah Quartet, Jacob Moon, and Hannah Burkholder are the latest addition to the line-up.

"We continue to work on securing more artists and special guests and will announce them once their rescheduled tour dates are confirmed," a statement said.

The event will be held at the Meridian Centre by charity Overtime Angels and the city of St. Catharines, in cooperation with Peart's family.

Apart from the Overtime Angels, the beneficiaries of the event, chosen by the Peart family, are St. Catharines Hospital and Walker Cancer Centre, The Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre in Hamilton, and the Royal Victoria Hospital of Barrie.
