On the evening of April 2, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., the Peace Bridge will be illuminated with the Autism Ontario’s brand colours to conclude World Autism Day and kick off our Celebrate the Spectrum campaign. Local dignitaries and the staff and families of Autism Ontario are invited to join at Mather Arch in Fort Erte to hear from Margaret Spoelstra, the chief executive officer, about the significance of World Autism Day and showing local support for the autistic community. The event will commence with light refreshments and a photo opportunity of the illuminated Peace Bridge.

On April 2, Autism Ontario launches its annual Celebrate the Spectrum initiative. Celebrate the Spectrum serves as an opportunity for positive action to provide spaces of support and advocacy for our diverse communities while learning about autism and how we can all make our communities better and more inclusive places for autistic people.

Autism Ontario's mission is to provide support, education, and advocacy for autistic individuals, their families, and communities across Ontario. As a leading autism advocacy organization, our primary activities include offering programs and services tailored to the diverse needs of autistic individuals and their families, advocating for policy changes and increased awareness, and fostering a supportive network of community resources and partnerships. Autism Ontario strives to empower autistic individuals to reach their full potential and promote inclusivity and acceptance within society. Our overarching goal is to enhance the quality of life for autistic individuals and their families throughout Ontario.
